Tommy fights alongside the rangers as they gain a zord and new combinations, until Rita slowly drains his powers, weakening him signifcantly and causing the rangers to loose an advantage.

 

 

      Before long, Rita's master, Lord Zedd, tired of her failures, comes to the moon and banishes her in a trash can. He then sets his gaze upon Earth and quickly disposes of the Dinozords. With them gone, Zordon has no choice but to upgrade the old dinozord models with the power of thunder, creating the Thunderzords: The Masodon-Lion, Pterodactyl-Firebird, Triceratops-Unicorn, Saber-Tooth Tiger-Griffin, and the Tyrannosaurus-Red Dragon. Tommy, being too weak and unstable, is unable to upgrade to a thunderzord, and remains for emergency use only, before his powers are finally dissipated.

 

      With the loss of Tommy, Lord Zedd gets more difficult to handle, and before long, he creates a monster that disables the Thunderzords temporarily. And when the rangers need Zordon the most, he and Alpha mysteriously disappear, only to return with a White Ranger, that turns out to be Tommy, the new leader of the Power Team. As the white ranger, Tommy uses the power of the Tigerzord, and also has a talking saber known as Saba. Tigerzord combines with the Lion, Firebird, Unicorn, and Griffin thunderzords to form Mega Tigerzord, which is capable of destroying the toughest of Lord Zedd's monsters.

 

     Before long, Rita returns and put Lord Zedd under a love spell, causing her permanent stay and more trouble for the rangers. Because of the stronger monsters, Zordon and Alpha recruit Tor the shuttlezord to aid the rangers in battle against the toughest of monsters.

 

     When the World Peace Conference is about to be held, Zack, Trini, and Jason are chosen to go and pass the power onto three new rangers; Adam Park, Aisha Campbell, and Rocky DeSantos. These three made wonderful replacements and managed to help the other three originals fend off Rita and Zedd's combined attempts.

 

     On the brink of defeat, Rita and Zedd seem desperate, when Rita's brother Rito shows up with a present and destroys the Thunderzords and the Tigerzord. With their powers gone, the Rangers set out on a quest to find newer, greater powers by the creator of the power coins; Ninjor. Once the rangers reach Ninjor in the desert of despair, he is at first skeptical, and then finally gives them the power of the ninjeti.

     Adam gains the power of the Frog, Kimberly the Crane, Billy the Wolf, Aisha the Bear, Rocky the Ape, and Tommy the Falcon. Each ranger keeps their color, but gains a new Ninja Zord in the form of their spirit powers. With these new powers, the rangers gain Ninja Ranger power which gives them advance ninjeti techniques and helps them fend of Rita and Zedd's new henchmen called Tengu Warriors (Tenga being the singular form.)

      The Ninjeti Powers become a great aid until Rita recruits yet another human to destroy the rangers, this time trying to steal a power coin. This new human being Katherine Hillard, a transfer student from Australia. Kimberly mistakenly befriends her and at the same time 'coincidentally' finds a stray white cat, which is really Katherine "Kat" in disguise. When a trainer comes to Angel Grove and wants Kimberly to participate in the Pan Global games for Gymnastics. Around this time, Kat steals Kim's power coin, gets in the Falconzord, steals that, and returns to Rita and Zedd. With these new aquisitions, Rita and Zedd awaken the dormant Shogun Zords to destroy Angel Grove. They kidnap a weakened Kimberly and use her to blackmail the rangers into piloting the Shogun Zords, which only come in five colors anyway: Black, White, Blue, Yellow, and Red.

        Eventually, Tommy rescues Kim but she is too weak to continue as a ranger and chooses to go to the pan global games, choosing Katherine as her replacement.

        Kat makes a fine addition to the team, but before long, trouble increases and Zordon brings back Titanus to help the rangers. Finally, Master Vile, Rita and Rito Repulsa's father, lands on the moon and attacks the earth. He manages to drain the Ninja Zords of their powers but is stopped, then he attempts to get the Zeo crystal, an ancient powered crystal that is protected by a forcefield, blocking all evil beings.  Tommy takes the Zeo Crystal and the Falcon Zord and the rangers split the Zeo crystal into five separate pieces and scatter them around the earth. Master vile turns time back in an attempt to destroy the younger rangers, who lose their Ninja Powers when reverted.. Billy uses a device to restore his normal age, but the device is destroyed befor he can help the others. Zordon calls on the rangers of Aquitar, the Alien Rangers, to defend earth while Tommy, Adam, Aisha, Kat, and Rocky voyage out to find the pieces of the Zeo Crystal, their key to getting their age back. Everyone returns from their separate parts of the world except Aisha, who vied to stay in Africa to help sick animals, and Tanya Sloan takes her place. The rangers reassemble the Zeo crystal only to have Rito and Goldar steal it from the Command Center destroy the command center. However, in the explosion, Rita and Goldar drop the crystal.

       The Machine Empire ruins Master Vile and company's celebration and kicks them off the moon. The Machine Empire then attempts to conquer earth, the last in a chain of unconquered planets...what will our powerless rangers do?
